PEM compliance showing CE mark

Safety and Compliance

We are committed to delivering products and services that meet the high standards expected by our customers and we are dedicated to a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.

Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS)

The European Union (EU) RoHS directive, 2011/65/EC and annex 2015/863 aims to control the use of certain hazardous substances in the production of new electrical and electronic equipment (EEE). Since July 2017 compliance to the RoHS directive has been a mandatory CE Marking requirement for PEM products.

All PEM products are designed and manufactured to meet the requirements of 2011/65/EC and annex 2015/863 directives and appropriate internal production controls are in place to maintain compliance. Products are assessed in accordance with EN 63000:2018.

Compliance to the ROHS directive is stated on individual product EU Declaration of Conformity.

REACH

The European Union regulation 1907/2006 concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) came into force in June 2007. REACH has implications for manufacturers, importers and users of chemical substances, preparations and articles.

Under the current legislation PEM are considered a downstream user and manufacturer of articles. Our obligations under REACH are to ensure the appropriate use of chemicals, preparations and articles and the effective communication of information along the supply chain.

PEM does not engage in any third-party analysis of its products or raw materials and assessment is based solely on a review of information provided by our suppliers.

Conflict Minerals

PEM conducts its business fairly, ethically and with respect for human rights.

Under the current legislation PEM are not required to submit any formal conflict minerals reports however we are fully committed to supporting our customers in meeting their obligations and have adopted a conflict minerals due-diligence framework appropriate to our position in the supply chain.

PEM works closely with its suppliers in obtaining necessary data and we update our response to the latest published Conflict Minerals Reporting Template (CMRT) issued by the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI).

A copy of our latest company level CMRT is available on request from [email protected]
